I am a senior accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist. I qualified as a registered Mental Health Nurse in 1988 and since then have worked in a range of mental health settings in the NHS. I obtained a Diploma in CBT for Severe and Enduring Mental Health Problems in 2007 at the University of Southampton and have undertaken numerous clinical training programmes in CBT and mindfulness since then and am also trained as a couples therapist. I have worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in the psychological therapies department in secondary care in hospital and community settings for people with a range of complex psychological difficulties.
I currently also work part-time for a local NHS psychological service providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for a range of anxiety and depression disorders. I have worked there for the last eight years and regularly supervise other CBT therapists on a weekly basis.
I am registered as an accredited CBT psychotherapist with the British association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
I am based in Hedge end just off junction 8 off the M27.
I am a fully accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapist and a member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP), having obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for Anxiety Disorders and Depression in 2013 from the University of Southampton. I am also a registered mental health nurse (RMN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Other key certified training includes a Masters degree in Forensic psychology, Applied Psychology and a Degree in Mental Health Nursing.
I have 22 years extensive clinical and therapeutic experience within a range of mental health settings for the NHS, with 5 years post qualifying experience as a CBT Psychotherapist, working with a variety of emotional and mental health problems. I currently work part time as a Senior Psychological Therapist and qualified supervisor for the local Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) NHS service providing psychological therapy on a one to one and group work therapy basis.
